WAW's Fifth Season Opens on Thursday June 29, 2017

WISCASSET, MAINE – The fifth season of Wiscasset Art Walk, located in the Village center, begins on Thursday, June 29, from 5 to 8pm. In addition to Wiscasset Village’s fine collection of artist-owned galleries, one-of-a-kind specialty shops, antique venues, good eats, and lots of music, visitors will be entertained this season by special events planned to amuse, enthrall, and delight.  Throughout the season, guest artists, talented performers, and even a high-end craft show, will add yet more abundance to an evening already full of sights, sounds, and tastes!

Park the car for the evening and stroll the open doors and sidewalks: listen to meandering minstrels; taste wine at Treats and tasty bits at Beelicious; be awed by the exhibitions of fine art in the galleries; and shop for personal finery, old books, or fine gifts while enjoying sparkling views of the Sheepscot River.  Free tours of the Nickels-Sortwell House, owned by Historic New England, and Wiscasset’s self-guided Museum in the Streets, now with a new app, provide the context for this historical Village, once a proud shipping community.

Wiscasset Art Walks are held on the last Thursday of the summer months: June 29, July 27, August 31, and September 28 from 5 to 8pm. Participant sites are marked with colorful streamers and touring maps are available throughout the Village.
