WISCASSET, MAINE – Ingram Art & Antiques co-owner Kirsten Ingram thought the Wiscasset Art Walk needed some sizzle, so she’s invited a local jazz trio to provide the evening’s brassy sounds.  There’s plenty of outdoor art to view in the new courtyard gallery just off Main St., and take a look at the temporary sculpture, HESPER, on the Recreational pier.  Boston’s Luminarium Dance Co. will make its annual WAW appearance with improvisational dance throughout the Village. And, to make the meandering experience complete, the O’Oysters cart from Portland will be shucking on Middle St. along with tacos-to-go from El Rodeo Go – between Treats and Golden Wok – during the Wiscasset Art Walk on Thursday, August 31, 5-8pm.

The Maine Marimba Ensemble will entertain WAW visitors as Middle St. is partially closed to vehicles and becomes a performance stage instead.

WISCASSET, MAINE – Two local artists who paint exuberantly with joy, color, and unique vision are highlights of the final Wiscasset Art Walk of the 2016 season on September 29, from 5-8pm.  Alna resident Kate Nordstrom will greet visitors to her exhibit of abstracted landscapes at Midcoast Conservancy, 36Water St., Wiscasset Village.  Barbara Welborn, a self-described autistic artist, greets visitors and displays selections from her fanciful cat series at Beelicious Market, 64 Main St. Both artists approach their subjects playfully resulting in landscapes that you’ve never seen before and cats that are not your home-grown variety.

WISCASSET, MAINE Wiscasset Art Walk is pleased to feature two local artists, George Mason of Damariscotta Mills and Leonard Meiselman of Wiscasset, who will present recent work in a two-person exhibit, Unspoken . . .from Nature to Abstraction, at Midcoast Conservancy, 36Water St., Wiscasset Village.  Art of a different sort enlivens the Village as Luminarium Dance Co., based in Boston, makes a repeat appearance during the Wiscasset Art Walk on August 25.  In Wiscasset, the dance company has ‘jammed’ with gallery musicians and danced with visitors on the pier.  Shops, sidewalks, hand railings, and, sometimes, people become props as the dancers improvise their way through the Village.
